Originally designed for children with Asperger Syndrome who tend to be literal thinkers and therefore find metaphorical language particularly challenging, this set of cards can be used to teach any group of children the delights of metaphor.
Presenting 60 common sayings, the cards encourage children to understand and play with metaphorical language. The cards are divided into 2 types: What Did you Say? cards which feature the metaphor and an illustration of its literal meaning and a corresponding What Do You Mean? card show the metaphorical meaning of the saying.
The set of cards come with an instruction booklet which lists all the metaphors and their meaning + an example of their use in everyday language. The booklet comes with several ideas on different ways and games in which the cards can be used.
Printed in colour on high quality gloss card. Cards are about twice the size of an average playing card and come in a box which can be used for storage when not in use.
